the state of things
In 2011, after the closing of XL Films and a short stint on LockeBryan, I started my freelance adventure in the world of video and film. At the end of 2014 that adventure came to an end. After several films completed, numerous commercials and several short-films the realization finally set in that I could not continue working on my own. Poor decisions in both my business model and my financial paths were simply impossible for me to overcome.
Now, I work full-time in the corporate side of video production for Houston Methodist. It's... not the same, but it's a good place with good people.
I do consider my time freelance as, ultimately, a failure because I couldn't sustain it. But, I loved much of the work I did and do miss the creative energy that those I worked with shared with me. I gave it a shot. Not everyone makes it to the big leagues, or even the minor leagues. Hell, most people don't even try. At least I can say I did that.
So, if you came here looking for me to help on your project, thanks! But, I'm not really available for freelance anymore. If you are hiring for a full-time position, please feel free to drop me a line. If not, still feel free to send me a note and I'll see if I can point you in the right direction of someone that can be of service.
